Richard Andrew Encinas, 64, of Chesterfield, VA went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 11, 2023. After an impressive career as a helicopter pilot in the U.S. Army, Richard returned home to Virginia. Richard continued his service in the Virginia Army National Guard while protecting and serving the residents of Chesterfield County as an officer with the police department for many years. Richard achieved many awards during his Army and Police careers, highlighting his passion and dedication to service.
Richard had a passion for fishing and camping (more like "glamping"). He and his wife Vicki enjoyed "noodling" and other creative feats to find that monster catfish on their camping adventures! Richard also loved to sit by the campfire, regardless of the time of day. Richard enjoyed biking in his spare time and has participated in the "Bike for Blue" event cycling from

Washington, D.C.Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Thelma and George Encinas and granddaughter, Elizabeth Nicole Encinas. Richard is survived by his loving wife Victoria Encinas; daughter, Ashley Encinas; sons, Ryan Encinas (Ashley), Logan Encinas; Lindell Walley TSgt, (Stacey); brother, Paul Encinas (Linda); niece, Erika MacCormac; nephew, Michael Encinas; stepsons, Matthew and Gregory Williams and his adoring grandchildren, Charlotte, Dorian, Graham and Lucas.
"Gramps" left this world too soon, but we have gained a wonderful angel. We are thankful that this is not goodbye, but rather until we meet again. May your memory live in our hearts forever.
Visitation will be from 10am-11am on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Morrissett Funeral and Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Road, N. Chesterfield, with a Celebration of Life to follow at 11am. Interment will follow at Dale Memorial Park.
