Richard O. "Dick" Fedt

Richard "Dick" O. Fedt, age 85, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026, at a local care center. Memorial services will be at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown with visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Steve Biswell will officiate.

Burial will be at Garfield Cemetery, rural Bryant, SD, at a later date.

Dick was born on February 6, 1941, in Watertown, SD, to Clarence and Hilda (Jurgens) Fedt. He grew up in the Bryant area, attending Dixon Country School #4 through the eighth grade before attending Bryant High School, graduating in 1959. Following high school, Dick attended Wahpeton Trade School for one year.

Dick worked at as a meat packer in Sioux Falls for eight years before entering the car dealership career as a salesman all over the western half of the country. In 1991, while working at Krantz Auto, Dick met Mary Decker and the two fell in love and have been together ever since. In 1992, Dick purchased the roadhouse/grill in Kranzburg, SD. Dick was friends with everyone, no one was a stranger to him and he made a lot of his friends at the local drinking establishments around town.

Dick is survived by his significant other, Mary Decker, of Watertown; two children Tammy (Josh Jutting) Decker, of Watertown, and Stacey (Rhnissa) Decker, of Lincoln, NE; two nephews, Charles (Rose) Fedt, of Renner, SD, and Robbie (LaWanda) Fedt, of Bryant, SD; and one niece, Tami (Bert) Magstadt, of Watertown.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Lyle Fedt, and Donald Fedt; and one sister, Sandra Fedt.
