So long as he shall be remembered. I truly do remember Dick vividly and with the warmest regards two Navy Corpsmen could share. He was a wonderful friend and human being. Anchors away, my friend.

To the Family and Loved Zone’s of Richard Gill: So long as he shall remain in our thoughts and hearts, and memories, he is still alive and with us. I still remember him as a loving, caring, and fiercely loyal friend. Miss him, but it won’t be long before we meet again. Anchors away, my boys.

To the Family of Richard Gill:
Dick and I served in the U.S. Navy as Hospital Corpsmen at Great Lakes Naval Hospital during the mid "60's. I was a Neuro-Psychiatric Technician, and Dick was a traditional corpsman who wanted to work on the psychiatric wards of the Hospital. He was a gentle, kind, and caring young man who was physically imposing enough as a corpsman to encourage his being used occasionally in a "show of force" scenario anytime the locked ward activities required it of him. He always had a terrific sense of humor, and was found to be charming by both fellow corpsmen as well as the patients and other nursing staff professionals. I so regret not taking the time to reconnect with him after our discharges, especially since we ended up so close to one another (I live in Medina), and especially when Dick was injured during the line of duty as a police officer and I learned of it from the Beacon's article dealing with his injury and recovery. Please accept my deepest sympathy for his loss. He was a loveable man who was loved by many, even during a state side time of war. May he rest in eternal peace surrounded by those he loved.

Always enjoyed working with Richard at the Adult Parole Authority, he was a gas and made each day lighter. After his retirement missed hearing stories of Spanky! So sorry to hear of his passing. Condolences to his family.

I never had the chance to work with Dick, but in general conversations, he was a great friend with a wonderful sense of humor. Cops are notorious prank players and whenever Dick was pranked, he always took it in his EVER PRESENT good nature. The world has lost a good man in Dickie Gill. Rest in peace, my brother in Blue.
