Richard A. Graybill entered eternal life on March 1, 2026. He was the husband of Joan Sheffer Graybill, his wife of 72 years.

Dick was born March 22, 1933 in Union County, the son of the late Kenneth and Lena Leitzel Stambaugh Graybill.

Dick grew up on a farm in Thomasville, PA with his foster parents George and Elsie Elicker, and their daughters Jane Elicker King and Annabel Elicker Hostetter. He was a 1951 graduate of East Berlin High School and an Army Veteran of two years following the Korean conflict. He was a farmer, salesman, machine operator, parts assembler, and supervisor at ESAB (Alloy Rods), Harley-Davidson, and BMY. He was a member of Trinity (Roth's) U.C.C. in Spring Grove, where he served on consistory, cemetery board, helping hands, stewardship, outreach, and the church choir. He was a member of the Hanover Barbershop Chorus, Zeredatha Lodge #451, Harrisburg Consistory, Central Penn Scottish Rite, and Treasurer of First Capital High Twelve. He served as past president of Penn Mar Racing Assoc. PA Trottingbred Breeders Assoc. He enjoyed training and driving his trottingbred horses, and was proud of his national champion in 1994. Dick was a tax collector for 24 years and a Jackson Twp auditor for 6 years. He was treasurer of Western York County Democratic Club, East Berlin Alumni Assoc, USWA Local 7687 Retirees, and Picking School Alumni. He was a #1 fan of high school wrestling for over 50 years.

Dick enjoyed all his children and grandchildren. In addition to his wonderful and caring wife Joan, he is survived by a son, Allen Graybill, and his wife Theresa of Lancaster, three daughters, Jody Breyer and husband James of Windsor, Jane Miller and husband Dave of Dover, and Jeana McCaffrey and husband James of York; four wonderful grandchildren, Erin Graybill, Michael Graybill and his wife Kelly, Briana McCaffrey, and Lauren Miller; two step-grandsons, Ryan and Keith McCaffrey; a great-grandson, Louis Graybill, and four step-great-grandchildren, Ferrah, James, Hannah, and John McCaffrey. He was predeceased by his half-brother, Rodney Stambaugh of York. Dick was always proud of his family and loved them for being so close to each other.

A Funeral Service in celebration of Dick's life will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 11:00AM at Trinity (Roth's) U.C.C., 6417 Church Rd., Spring Grove, PA 17362. He will be laid to rest following the service at the church cemetery with Military Honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Viewings will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026 from 6:00PM – 8:00PM at Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., of Spring Grove, 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove, PA 17362 and on Saturday from 10:00AM – 11:00AM prior to the service at Trinity (Roth's) U.C.C.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Roth's UCC Memorial Fund.
