LOYALSOCK - Richard G. "Dick" Grugan, 93, passed away Monday, October 30, 2023 at Heritage Springs Memory Care (Montoursville), Muncy.
He was married on October 10, 1953 to the former Frances J. (Bailey), who survives. They just celebrated 70 years of marriage.
Richard was born on March 15, 1930 in Charleston, West Virginia and was the son of the late Roland G. and Lucy (Nidiffer) Grugan. He graduated from Jersey Shore High School in 1948 then joined the US Air Force and served during the Korean War. Richard had worked at IBM and retired in 1987. He attended Montoursville Presbyterian Church and was a member of the American Legion in Montoursville and the Lycoming County Consolidated Sportsmen Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseback riding, traveling and was very patriotic.
In addition to his wife Frances, he is survived by two daughters; Robin L. Brown (Rodney) of Roseboro, North Carolina and Kelly G. Crist (Michael) of Montoursville, two grandchildren; Lindi R. Li (Ian) of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Terrin M. Crist of Sewickley and one great-granddaughter; Ardyn T. Li. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers; Bertrum "Bud" and Robert Grugan and three sisters; Ruth Kennedy, Naomi Peterson and "Trix" Walker.
Services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are being handled by Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore.
