Richard D. Hasse, age 75 of Janesville, WI passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital, Madison on Sunday, November 9, 2025. He was born on February 18, 1950, in Walworth, WI, the son of Theodore “Ted” and Rose (Baumbach) Hasse. Richard grew up in Janesville and was a 1968 graduate of Craig High School.
Richard married Nancy A. Lyle on May 1, 1976, at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Janesville. He was employed as a mechanic by Blain Supply Company and later as a salesperson by Lawson Products prior to retiring. As a young person, Richard enjoyed drag racing. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time in the garage using his mechanical skills. Richard was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Richard is survived by his wife, Nancy Hasse; daughters, Becky (Joel) Kraft, Brenda (Ryan) Hasse-Rupp; grandchildren, Arthur and Margot Rupp; sister, Carol (David) Welton; brother, Bob (Ann) Hasse. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sandy Slater.
A special thank you to the Welton family for all of the care they provided.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at ST. PAUL’S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 210 South Ringold St. Janesville. Pastor Andrew Nelson will officiate. Visitation will be at the CHURCH on Tuesday November 18th from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the services.
