Richard Hatcher Obituary
He leaves behind his wife of 62 years, Charlene Hatcher; son Ricky Hatcher and Debra Woodruff, daughter Dana Deason and husband Ted, and son Ronnie Hatcher and wife Christina, all of New Waverly; grandchildren Rocky Hatcher, Tiffany Wood and husband Rodney, Kayla Wright and husband Geoff, Nicholas Hatcher, Dallas Deason, Dakota Deason, Denver Deason, Dylan Deason, Montanah Brenner and husband Colton, MaClaye Hatcher, and Marshall Hatcher; brother Don Hatcher and wife Beverly, sister Billie Hicks; numerous great grandchildren, other family members, and friends.
Richard was born in Conroe, Texas. He moved to Houston at an early age where he graduated high school. He met his wife during school and soon married after graduation. He went to work for U.S. Gypsum until he went into the convenience store business in the early 70's, owning and operating Zipps Food Mart in Porter and the Houston area. His final Zipps was in Willis, Texas. He sold and retired until his work ethic had him at it again with his son. They built and operated Bubba's in Dodge, Texas for 5 years. He then left the store business for good.
He had a passion for the outdoors. He loved hunting and working at his deer leases. Ranching, raising cattle, and tending to his hay fields were a daily part of his life-right up until his death. He told his kids, he did nothing until the age of nine and then he got a job and has worked ever since. He was one of the hardest working men ever, an amazing husband, a wonderful dad, and a loving PaPa!
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 4, 2021, at McNutt Funeral Home in Conroe, Texas. Interment to follow at Conroe Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be at 9:00 a.m., before the funeral.
Pallbearers are Rocky Hatcher, Nicholas Hatcher, Bryce Hatcher, Geoff Wright, Rodney Wood, Ryland Wood, Marshall Hatcher, and Colton Brenner.
