Richard Louis Haueter

Richard "Rick" Louis Haueter went to be with the Lord on September 25, 2024 at the age of 66 following a battle with cancer. Rick was the most beloved son, brother, dad, husband, and the label he was probably the most proud of- Poppy.
Rick was born July 25, 1958 in Louisville, Kentucky and moved to Bedford, Indiana as a child, where he met his high school sweetheart of 48 years and the love of his life, Beth. After high school he pursued a military and engineering career at West Point and following his graduation, entered the United States Army. He was honorably discharged as a Captain in 1985, leaving the military to spend time with his family, which was the pride of his life. Rick and Beth ended up in Eden Prairie, Minnesota and created a life together built on faith, generosity, love, and strength. Rick was the definition of a family man, and showed us all what it truly means to care for the ones you love. He taught us many lessons in his earthly life and will continue to teach us lessons during his heavenly life.
Our family would like to thank the staff at St. Francis Regional Hospital for their support during the start of this journey and the staff at the Mayo Clinic for their incredible care, without which our family may not have had answers and our Poppy may not have had the comfort of a peaceful passing surrounded by family.
He is preceded in death by his father, Louis Haueter, and his father-in-law, John Reynolds.
He is survived by his wife, Beth; his children, Kara (Keith), Kyle (Julie), and Kylee; and his grandchildren, Conner, Max, Ian, Jayden, Noah, and Macy; his mother, Betty; his sister, Barbara (Brett); his brother, David (Cheryl); and his mother-in-law, Barbara.
The family will be holding a Celebration of Life on October 11th at Bridgewood Church in Savage, MN. Visitation will be at 11, service starts at 12, with a luncheon to follow.
