RICHARD "DICK". HAUGH CONOVER-Mr. Richard Brinton Haugh, 82, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born July 12, 1930 in Franklin County, PA the son of the late William B. and Margie Bitner Haugh. Dick was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the U. S. Army. He was retired from Commercial Fabricators. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather and took great pride in his two grandchildren. His passion was riding motorcycles, and he was a member of the Hickory Riding Club. The Club was involved in many community charities in which Dick took great pride in his involvement in these worthwhile activities. In his younger years he loved to bowl, fish and hunt. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Jean Angle and brother-in-law, Ed Angle. Survivors include his wife, Alice Riedy Haugh of the home; three daughters, Susan Haugh of Rock Hill, SC, Donna White of Newton and Jayne Whittenburg of St. Cloud, FL; grandchildren, Jeremy White of Newton and Kristine White of Newton; brothers, Glenn Haugh and wife, Madelyn of Waynesboro, PA, and Lanny Haugh and wife, Darlene of Fayettesville, PA; sisters, LaRue McKenzie and husband, Marvin of Chambersburg, PA and Carol Winders and husband, Billie of Smithsburg, MD; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, December 28th from 4 to 6 PM at Catawba Funerals and Cremations. Memorials may be made to Catawba Regional Hospice, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658 or On-line condolences may be left at www.catawbamemorialpark.com. Catawba Memorial Park, Funerals and Cremation are providing professional service to the Haugh Family.
