Mr Hayes was my 8th grade math teacher and excellent at his job. He helped foster my love of math and by extension science. I moved on to AWHS and as a Junior and Senior he was my golf coach. I think secretly he enjoyed having a female on the team. It was always fun to watch the faces from the other team when Mr Hayes announced the pairings and it was realized that one of the other team would have to play "a girl". I have many fond memories of Mr.Hayes. Condolences to his family.

We always loved having Dick join us at Shawns (back when they had music) and LaBanda to listen to Johnny Rodriguez play! We enjoyed chatting when he walked past our house with his pup. He often called me for wildlife advice and brought injured and orphaned animals he found to Nature's Nursery.
He and I just spoke not too long ago and said we were going to get together soon to listen to Johnny play again since it had been so long. I'm going to miss him.
