Richard Allen Hayes

Richard Allen Hayes, 68, of Beaumont, died Monday, December 4, 2023. He was born April 30, 1955, in San Diego, California, to Helen French Hayes and Thomas Hayes. Richard graduated from Rice University in 1977. He received a P.H.D. from UCLA in Chemistry and worked as a chemist for DuPont de Nemours, Inc., for thirty-two years. Richard was named inventor on over 100 patents with Dupont and several patents during retirement while contracting for Corning Glass. After positions in Wilmington, DE, Parkersburg, WV, La Porte, TX, and Nashville TN, he retired from Dupont at Dupont Sabine River Works.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Ann Manson; daughter, Laina Hayes; son, Glenn Hayes; daughter, Roxanne Hayes, all of Beaumont; sister, Vivian Cherry and her husband, Jim, of The Woodlands; and brother, Tom Hayes and his wife, Hanh, of Austin.
Mr. Hayes' cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard's Crematorium, 5150 Stivers Street, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
