Richard Heaton Obituary

Richard E. Heaton, 90, of Warne, passed away Friday, Oct. 24, 2025 in a Clay County care facility. Richard served his country honorably with four years in the Marine Corps and 20 years in the Army. He continued his service to our country working 18 years at the Bay Pines VA Center.
He always had a love of fishing with his friends and family. Much to his disappointment, only two sons could fish as well as him. He was a voracious reader of westerns and mystery books. He was a wicked pool player, always teaching his children the meaning of life in their defeat at their father's hand. He was always ready with a joke or a story of his youth to anyone who would listen. Those who had the honor of meeting him, fell for his charm and claimed he was the nicest and sweetest man they ever met. His children may have begged to differ at times.
He was the son of the late Ervin and Ruth Helen Heaton. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Elisabeth.
Surviving are his second wife, Constance Heaton; sons, Richard, Skippy and Danny; step-sons, Klaus and Bernie; daughters, Karin and Tina; step-daughters, Kimmie and Cindy; and numerous grandchildren.
No services are planned at this time.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made in memory of Richard E. Heaton to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 42040, Oklahoma City, OK, 73123-3000.
