Richard Galen Hill
Three Rivers, Michigan
Richard Galen Hill, 75, passed away peacefully at Kairos Dwelling in Kalamazoo, February 8, 2025. Richard's family and friends will gather from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM, Friday, February 14, 2025 at Eineder Funeral Homes – Michigan Center Chapel. His funeral service will follow at 10:00 AM, with Pastor Ned Bernstein officiating. Internment will take place directly after at Roseland Memorial Gardens.
Richard was born on May 14, 1949, in Jackson, Michigan to Dixon and Dorothy (Carl) Hill. He attended and graduated from Cement City High school class of 1967, where he was known for his many outstanding sports records. After high school, Richard proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. On November 2, 1968, Richard married the love of his life, Susan Kay (Spry) Hill in Clarklake, Michigan. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and the most treasured title of grandfather. He cherished and adored the sound of his grandchildren's laughter. Richard was an enthusiastic Detroit sports fan, he enjoyed farming, so much so, that even after not able to farm himself, he stayed in touch with the farming industry, especially dairy farming. On holidays you could find him in the kitchen with his daughter Julia cooking his family's favorite meals. Richard also enjoyed the outdoors, including hunting, fishing and playing golf.
Richard will be missed by all who knew him, especially, his loving wife of 57 years, Susan; his children, Gorton (Mindy) Hill, Julia (Joshua MacDonald) Hill and Donovan Hill; grandchildren Aiden, Angelica, Damien, Bailey, Elliott and Charlotte "Charlie"; nephew, Jeff Hill and niece, Nikki Conklin-Forsythe. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dixon and Dorothy Hill; siblings, James Hill and Linda Conklin; niece Debbie Hill and nephews, Greg Hill and Justin Conklin.
