It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Richard “Richie” Hourigan on June 19th at the age of 94. Richie was pre-deceased by his beloved wife Irene of 69 years. He was born in New York City and was the loving son of the late Richard Hourigan and Catherine Sweeney Hourigan. He was the cherished brother of the late Johanna, James and Catherine. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, friends and his dearest caregiver Jennifer Lopez, who lovingly took care of Richie, Irene and their precious pup Suzie. Richie was a retired police officer with the NYPD. He later worked in Security at Winthrop Hospital. Richard had a passion for sports, but especially his "Amazin" New York Mets. He enjoyed playing golf at Bretton Woods and was a talented artist and lover of all animals. Richie will be most remembered for his kind soul and great sense of humor. We can all be comforted knowing that Richie and Irene are together again.
