Richard Huebner Obituary

RICHARD L. HUEBNER Richard L. Huebner, of AuGres, Michigan, passed away on June 26, 2025, at the age of 85, with the love of his life, Earleen, by his side. A passionate husband, dedicated father, and cavity-inducing sweet "Papa," Richard was a man whose heart was as full as his life was rich. The world has lost a vibrant and loving spirit, but the memories he created will endure. Born on December 13, 1939, in Bay City, Michigan, Richard was the son of the late Howard and Grace (Bates) Huebner. He was preceded in death by his two older sisters, Grace Elaine and Betty. Richard's journey through life began with a sense of adventure, as he enlisted in the United States Navy at an early age. His travels took him far, but it was during a brief intermission in Newport, Rhode Island, that he met the love of his life, Earleen Ada Jillson. After just three months, he proposed, and on July 1, 1961, they were married. Their love story, co-written through the years, took them from the East Coast to Mid-Michigan, where they created a life together. A devoted husband and father, Richard spent his 38-year career at General Motors, while also building homes for Earleen and their family. He and Earleen raised three children: Tamara (Dale) Wiltse, Debara (Don) Huebner-Badour, and Erik (Kim) Huebner. Richard's love for his children was immeasurable, a love that only grew stronger as they gifted him with grandchildren and great-grandchildren, the greatest joys of his life. Richard was blessed with ten grandchildren: Amanda (Tommy) Klopf, Heather (Michael) Wheating, Meagan (John) Konwinski, Austin Huebner, Nathan (Jessica) Badour, Cale (Lisa) Wiltse, Allison Wiltse, Daniel Windt, and the 17 great-grandchildren who will forever cherish his memory. He found immense joy in spending time with them, creating lifelong memories, and sharing his boundless ingenuity. A natural creator, Richard found joy in buildingnot just homes, but memories. He lovingly crafted dollhouses, rocking horses, and countless other treasures for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His legacy of love, patience, and artistry will forever live on through these treasured creations. Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Earleen, their three children, their grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. His legacy of love, strength, and devotion will continue to inspire and guide all who know him. A private family ceremony will be held at a later date.
