Richard Humphrey Obituary

Born December 21, 1938, in New York City and grew up in Evanston, IL. He attended high school at North Shore Country Day School in Winnetka and college at Northwestern University in Evanston. His parents were Anne Hickey Humphrey and William Vincent "Bill" Humphrey. He is survived by his siblings, Helen Humphrey Duellman, Bill Humphrey, and John Humphrey; children, Jill Humphrey and Robert (wife, Jennifer) Humphrey; and grandchildren, Paige and Brooke Humphrey. Dick was a successful executive film producer working with many high-profile names in the entertainment industry and the recipient of several awards. He was an avid golfer and sports lover and the captain of the golf team and quarterback of the football team in high school. An enthusiast of Jazz and Rock, he also had a keen ear for music, which contributed to his production work. He loved spending time with his family at Ravinia, the Botanic Garden, or the many beaches along the lakefront. Services are private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Chicago Botanic Garden, 1000 Lake Cook Rd., Glencoe, IL, 60022 (chicagobotanic.org).
