We last were with you on Mother's Day, 2016; the day after your Brother's birthday. There has be no end to the sorrow. They say sorrow is selfishness; then I am very selfish. They say, "We'll meet again someday," Perhaps I don't have enough faith to dwell on that hope. We pray every day and, especially night, that God has blessed your soul and spirit. We pray your spirit will return to this earth and dwell in another being, capable of continuing your efforts to remain a gifted person and craftsman . May God be with you, Doug.

Words cannot describe the pain and sorrow we are experiencing. There is a hole in our hearts, I fear, that will never be healed. With this sorrow we are comforted by the memories of his many accomplishments: The passion he exhibited in every project; His love of his crafts; The faith & support in his sub-contractors; . Doug inspired others to excel in his crafts: his Son, Douggie; his Brother, Ken; his Son-In-Law, Sam. We only hope God will look upon Doug as his Master Carpenter, reporting to Jesus.

I am deeply saddened to here of Doug's passing. He was my cousin and childhood buddy. I want to extend my condolences to Judy, their children, and grand children. I recently went through this myself and it is not easy. With friends and family support you will get through it. Again, I am very sorry to hear about your loss.

Doug,
You were a good man; a good husband, father, son, brother, brother in law, and to me a good cousin in law.
My heart hurts.
You had a way of touching everyone that was lucky enough to have crossed paths with you.
We had wonderful family gatherings at your house and back yard. We always looked forward to seeing what remodeling you had completed year to year. You would never take credit, always bring up what you didn't get done. Every year, my Mom would walk around the back yard and admire all the plant boxes and see what was new, she could always tell what was new and what had grown larger form the year before. You guys built a beautiful homestead.
The parties are such a fond memory; Papee Jim would spend the entire afternoon in the pool with all the kids, Emily had to force him out so the kids would eat. All the aunts, uncles and cousins, along with your mom and dad, Ken and Janet had a lot of laughs.
You always setup a fireworks launch pad but was smart enough to let all the other idiot cousins perform the launches. Seems like the pad moved further away from the house each year. I was always shocked that no one ever got hurt.
Judy, Dougie, Ashley, Sam, Mr. and Mrs. Kampfer, Ken and Janet, we are unable to come back to celebrate Doug's life with you. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Love to all.
