Richard Dana Kanatzar, 76, of Massillon passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 27, 2023. He was born January 2, 1947 in Akron, Ohio.
Richard graduated from Central High School in 1965. He retired from Burger Iron Company after 40 plus years of service. Richard enjoyed coaching his children in youth sports, and he also loved to play his guitar, listen to music and spend time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenna; sisters, Bonnie, Ruth and Ann; father, Harold Kanatzar and mother, Sarah Louise Kanatzar.
Richard is survived by his children, Anthony Kanatzar, Laura (Steve) Thomas, Johnna (Eric) Wheeler, Dana (Jason) Shaw, Joseph (Jodi) Kanatzar; step-children, Ronald (Jessie) Hane, Thomas (Kathleen) Hane, Adrienne (Anthony) DePew and Gary (Susan) Meacham; numerous grandchildren and several great grandchildren; brother, Jerry Green and sister, Sue Pope and several nieces, nephews, family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 3, 2023 at Reed Funeral Home North Canton Chapel, 801 Pittsburg Ave. NW., North Canton, Ohio 44720 from 11am to 1pm with services to follow at 1pm. Burial will follow in Sunset Hills Burial Park. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Stark County Humane Society.
