Richard M. Kauder

Richard M. Kauder, Sr. passed peacefully at home December 23, 2025. Rich was born 7/30/45 the son of the late Myron and Ida Massecar Kauder. While a Senior at Clifton Springs High School, a strawberry blonde freshman caught his eye, and he determined to marry her. He went on to graduate from Mohawk Valley CC and enlisted in the Army. During his enlistment in August 1967, he made that red head, Beverly Ann Clark, his bride and they began their life together raising two wonderful sons.
After serving his country, Rich began his over forty-year career with The Pike Co. becoming a project superintendent. He was part of a "Build New York" award winning team three times. His most challenging job was the I-390 cantilever bridges over the Genesee River, but his favorite was "the house that love built", The Ronald McDonald House of Rochester. Yes, his family is one of those who like to point out "my Dad built that!" Sometimes Rick or Ben can even say "I worked on that job with Dad." (e.g. the third floor of Clifton Springs Hospital.)
Rich loved fishing on Seneca Lake and hunting at the family camp he helped establish in Cameron Mills, NY. He was a lifelong NY Yankees and NY Giants fan. His family was his pride and joy.
He is survived by his devoted wife and beloved sons Rick (Patti) and Ben (Melisa), treasured grandchildren Brenden Kauder, Taylor (Alex Buisch) Kauder, Jessie (Ty) Jensen, Derrick (Kalyn VanHout) Kauder and Grace Kauder and precious great grandchildren Jayce, Finley, Brodie, Ayla and Delilah. He also leaves his nephews Scott Clark, Bob and Bill Taylor and niece Christine Fisher and several "sons" who lovingly called him Gramps.
Rich was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law Sonia and Bob Taylor and cherished grandson Christopher.
The family wishes to thank Gia Davoli who became part of our family and all the aides who took such good care of Rich over the last several months. Also, thanks to Ontario-Yates Hospice for their help and comfort at the end.
In lieu of flowers, a charitable donation can be made to the Ronald McDonald house of Rochester.
