I was truly sorry to hear about the passing of a good friend and former student/athlete from Mahanoy Area. When I began my career as a teacher and track and cross country coach at Mahanoy Area, Ricky was one of my runners. I think he spent more time practicing with me, Jim Blankenhorn and Rich Blaker than he did at home. Those were great days, and wonderful memories. My condolences to his family and to George, Bill and Mary Theresa.

I had the great privilege of working next door to Richard in the early 90s when I was at DCJS. He was a wealth of information; always willing to share and provide guidance. The Commonwealth's legal and law enforcement community has lost a great asset and a true gentleman. My condolences to the Kern family. Paul Ronson
