Richard King Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by DeVito Funeral Home on Mar. 1, 2026.
Richard J. King, 60 of Brookline MA passed away on February 28, 2026, surrounded by his loving

family. Born in Arlington, in 1965 the son of the late Charles T. and Anne M. (Bullock) King.

Richie was born with intellectual disabilities that presented daily challenges. He not only

survived those, but he thrived in life. Richie was a lifelong member of the Catholic faith

attending mass weekly. He lived his life with a smile on his face, never complaining about the

cards he was dealt. He participated in many activities including Special Olympics, bowling, as

well as achieving a black belt in karate. He enjoyed helping others through volunteering at The

Fernald School, and the Tootsie Roll drive sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. His hobbies

included bike riding, attending oldies concerts, playing cribbage, Uno, mini golf and the guitar.

Richie was connoisseur of all types of food, having never met a food he didn't like. After

graduating from the LABBB Collaborative he went on to hold positions at Deloitte and Touche,

Honeywell and Target.

Richie is survived by his sister Deborah King of Stoneham, sister Sue Porter (he had no idea

where she lived) and her husband Paul of Arizona, brother Ray King and his wife Dawn of

Billerica, and a niece Jessica Walker (Justin) of California, and a nephew Stephen Cimbrelo of

Massachusetts.

Visiting hours are 4 p.m.–7 p.m. on Wednesday March 4th at the DeVito Funeral Home, 1145

Mass Ave, Arlington, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at Saint Eulalia's Church,

50 Ridge Street, Winchester, MA at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday March 5th. Please meet at Church. Committal prayers to follow Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. As a last act Richie's

generosity continued through his donation to the New England Donor Services. With that in

mind, in lieu of flowers, donations in Richie's memory to the Special Olympics or the New

England Donor Services, 60 First Ave, Waltham MA 02451 would be greatly appreciated.
