I was the Matanzas Shores President during the year of our discontent I worked closely with Dick who not only helped me navigate troubled waters but who gave me great support and greater advice that led to a successful term in office. Dick and a few others spoke at my " retirement" from the Board. He said something like. John is a good guy. We could not be farther apart politically but I found him to be'''. At that point I started to shed a tear. Thank you Dick. I wish I knew you passed in May. I might join you in Paradise some day soon. We can have a good laugh and exchange memories..

My favorite thing about Dick was always his optimism. I took this selfie the night we were all grumpy because we had to work in the pouring rain, but Dick still had a positive attitude and got us in the spirit to get through the night.

After his retirement, he dabbled into show business with me as his manager/director playing the ghost of Charlie Powell. He loves dressing into his turn of the 20th C striped prison fatigues and making up as a macabre ghost. What fun. I'll miss ya' dude.
