Richard Leroy Lindstadt, 95, of Alpharetta, Georgia passed away on September 26, 2025. Born December 27, 1929 in Brooklyn, New York, Richard lived a life full of love, laughter, and remarkable accomplishments. Richard discovered his lifelong passion for bowling at the age of 13 and remained an avid bowler for 80 years, continuing until the age of 93. Over his lifetime, he bowled six perfect 300 games, was named Dade County Bowler of the Year in 1972, and in 1974, became the first male inductee into the Broward County Bowling Hall of Fame. At just 17, Richard began working at Equitable Life, but soon answered the call to serve his country. He joined the U.S. Navy, serving one year of active duty aboard the aircraft carrier Coral Sea, and was shortly after honorably discharged and continued in the active reserves for six years while resuming his career with Equitable Life. It was during his time at Equitable Life that Richard's life changed forever. A coworker organized a bowling night, hoping to spark a match of her own, but instead Richard was captivated by the great bowling form of another colleague, Irene. The two soon began dating, and in 1951 they married, sharing an extraordinary 74 years of love. In 1968, Equitable Life transferred Richard to South Florida, where he and Irene made their home in Hollywood, FL. He dedicated 41 years to the company, retiring at the age of 58. In retirement, he and Irene enjoyed new chapters of life together, moving first to Orlando in 1994, and later to Alpharetta, GA in 2004, to be close to their daughter Diane and son-in-law Peter. Beyond bowling and work, Richard found joy in many things. He was an avid piano player who loved music, a devoted James Bond fan who could recount every detail of every film (with Sean Connery holding top billing), and a teller of jokes with a notorious knack for screwing up punchlines, but always leaving those around him laughing. He and Irene also shared a love of casinos, making frequent trips to Las Vegas over the years and later enjoying visits to the North Carolina casinos. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother who passed before he was born. He is survived by his beloved wife, Irene; his daughter, Diane, and son-in-law, Peter; as well as many nieces and nephews who cherished him. Richard's life was defined by humor, love, dedication, and a passion for the things and people that brought him joy. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He's now throwing strikes with the angels!
