Richard Allan Lovins was born on September 27, 1959 in Elgin, Illinois, and he passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2025 at the age of 66. A devoted husband and loving father of three, he was the cornerstone of his family and a steady presence in their lives. He thrived on supporting his children in all of their activities and endeavors. He loved adventure. Exploring a new town, finding the best local restaurants, and attending sporting events with family and friends was his specialty.

A keen businessman, he proudly owned and operated three businesses, earning the respect of his colleagues and community through his hard work, integrity, and heart for giving back. If there was a need, he would quietly and thoughtfully be there for anyone.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Lovins; children, Jillian, Aaron, and Elliot Lovins; fatherand stepmother, Richard and Kathy Lovins; stepfather, Edward Hoeske; siblings, Debra(Gary) Weiss, Russell (Denise) Lovins, Julie Lovins, Jonathan (Megan) Lovins, Amy(Brian) Earnest, and William (Jennifer) Hoeske. Also survived by Aunt Delores (Ehle) Ream and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Betty Ann (Ehle) Hoeske; brother, Michael Allan Lovins; and niece, Hazel Rose Earnest.

Rick and his family are long-time members of Long Hollow Church in Hendersonville, Tennessee. He will be remembered for his commitment to his family, his generous spirit, and the lasting legacy he leaves behind.
