Richard Gale Lowstetter (March 22, 1944 - December 14, 2024) passed away at the age of 80 on Saturday, December 14th, surrounded by family and friends.
Born in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania, Richard moved to Texas at the age of 15. He always said he was a true Texan and could not get here quick enough. He graduated from Lamar Consolidated High School in Rosenberg, TX in 1962.
Richard had three different careers. He was district manager for Sears as a young man. He obtained his Realtor license and sold new homes for over 30 years. His last job was managing Homeowners Associations.
Richard retired in 2012 and traveled to every state in this beautiful country with his wife. They visited every presidential library. He loved his family and spent as much time as he could with his grandchildren. His passion was working in the yard and making it beautiful. Richard was a volunteer for Cy-Hope's BackPack program and was part of a Men's Group from Foundry Church that meets every Wednesday. He was also involved with a life group at Foundry, Gaining New Understanding. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Helen (Love) Lowstetter of Richmond, and his sister, Shirley Maples of Pearland.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Lowstetter of Cypress; son Richard Lowstetter and his wife Portia of Wharton, son Robert Lowstetter and his wife Pamela of Houston, son Stephen Dickinson and his wife Kimberly of Plymouth, MA, daughter Lisa Dickinson of Cypress, brother Duiane and his wife Nancy, and sister Sondra Hall. He is also survived by his grandchildren Stoney, Robert, Christopher, Amy, Megan, Emily, and Evan, great grandson Drake, many nieces and nephews, and many, many friends whom he would consider to be family.
Friends are invited to visit with the family beginning at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 20, at Foundry Church, 8350 Jones Road, Houston, TX 77065. A funeral service will follow visitation at 11 a.m. A reception will take place at the church immediately after the service. A graveside committal service will take place at 2 p.m. at Klein Memorial Park in Cypress.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Cy-Hope or Foundry Church.
