Richard Lyman Obituary
Age 61, of Frankfort, passed away Wednesday, November 12th, 2025 at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.
Richard is survived by his loving family, wife, Kathy Lyman (Kohlstedt), mother, Dorothy Lyman (Maxa), children, Alyssa (Lucas) Strait, Kaitlin (Kenny) Maurer, grandsons, Gavin Cole Maurer, baby boy Strait due in March 2026, siblings, Michael (Liz) Lyman, Laura (Michael) Beck, brother in-law, Michael Jackson and uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, Richard R. Lyman and sister, Jane Jackson.
Richard was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mokena and was the owner and operator of Material Resources Inc in Blue Island. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his family, lunches with his close friends and snowmobiling in Michigan.
Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort IL 60423 on Tuesday, November 18th, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral service, Wednesday, November 19th, 2025 with prayers at the funeral home at 10:15 AM and then to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 19515 115th Avenue, Mokena, IL 60448 for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
