MADARAS, Richard – of Davison, age 78, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at McLaren – Flint. A Funeral Service will be held at 1 PM on Monday, January 13, 2025, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423. Cremation will take place following the service. The family will welcome visitors from 1-7 PM on Sunday, January 12, 2025. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to For-Mar Nature Preserve and Arboretum or the Flint Community Players, in Dick's memory.
Richard was born in Flint, MI on March 21, 1946, son of the late August and Anne (Lorenc) Madaras. He married Ronnette "Ronnie" on September 10, 1993. Dick was a 1964 Flint Central graduate and then attended U of M, Ann Arbor. He proudly worked for the IRS for more than 30 years, retiring in 2005. Dick enjoyed U of M sports, golf, nature, puzzles, reading, and wine. One of his greatest joys was watching his grandchildren play sports and spending time with them. Dick loved to travel, loved life and his wife. He will forever be remembered as being intelligent and kind. Dick held on to interesting facts and bits of knowledge he openly shared. His loss will be profoundly felt by many. Go Blue!
Dick is survived by his loving wife, Ronnie; children, Jennifer (Donnie) Patterson, Chris (Nickole) Knack, Melanie (Nick) Illig, Angie Brown, Tristan Madaras; grandchildren, Jesse Patterson, Brian Knack, Skye (Nick) Zigoris, Lauren Patterson, Summer (Gage) Ranville, Eli Knack, Vance Knack; sisters, Carol (John) Wishart, Brenda (Jack) Stikeleather, Deborah (Jim) Bednarski, Donette (Keith) Shilling; brother, Ron (Teresa) Christenson; many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Anne Madaras; and a brother, Mark Madaras.
