Richard Manulla, 71, of Plantsville, husband of 47 years to Donna Manulla, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2025.
Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Joseph and Enes (Gallo) Manulla. Richard was a former Plainville resident before moving to Plantsville 16 years ago. He was formerly employed as a telephone technician at Henkels & McCoy in Middletown and later at Bristol Hospital before retiring. Rick was known for his smile, sense of humor and making people laugh. Rick’s legacy of love, laughter and joy will continue to live in our hearts of all who were blessed to know him. Rick was a member of the Elks Lodge in New Britain. He enjoyed pinball machines, singing and music, walking in the park, and visiting the library.
Surviving are his loving wife, Donna (Zoccoli) Manulla; his loving son and best friend, Kristofer Manulla of Plantsville; a brother, Roger Manulla and his wife Marie of New Britain; a brother-in-law, Richard Zoccoli and his wife Kathy of Terryville; a sister-in-law, Esther Luksas and her husband Peter of Terryville; several special nieces and nephews; grandnephews and a grandniece; and many cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Manulla and his former sister-in-law, Anne Marie Manulla; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Pat and Nancy Zoccoli.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home in New Britain is in charge of arrangements.
