Sue:
Don't worry about Dick. I am sure he is telling God just how he can
repair the pearly gates. Plexiglass of course.

Dick was a wonderful patient in the hospital and earned my admiration and respect the first time I met him.

He is with the Lord now, and I know YOU have the best guardian angel in Heaven
God bless you and your family in this hard time.

I spent several years volunteering with Dick at Tuckahoe Rescue. He was always enthusiastic in his assigned position and did it with great pride. I was glad that Dick was watching guard over the building while we were out running the calls! As President of TVRS during some of his time - I know that Dick's committment and pride was appreciated by many. My thoughts are with his family and friends in this tough time.

Cat,

I was sad to learn of your father's death. I hope you're doing well and will take some time to celebrate a life well-lived.

Dear Catherine, Sue and the McCool family,

I was so sad to hear of Dick's illness and passing. As part of the "office family" at Around the James, I not only gained valuable work and life experience, but a best friend in Cat and fond memories of Dick and Sue (and Judy!). I will forever remember you both for taking a chance on someone who called out of the blue looking for a job. That's the kind of person Dick was, and I know he'll be missed greatly and remembered with love.

My condolences and heartfelt sympathy,

Jennifer

Sue,

I am praying for you, praying that you can feel God's loving presence with you and His loving arms wrapped around you at this very difficult time. While Dick's passing was very sudden, I smile thinking of him meeting God face to face and suffering no more pain. You and your family will continue to be in my prayers. I will miss talking with Dick at church events, such as the yard sale, where we all volunteered yearly.

Part of your Welborne Family,

To everyone who loved Dick McCool -- we all share in the sadness of Dick's untimely death -- and rejoice in the freedom from the pain that had claimed him in such a short time. He was a friend to so many, and gave so much of himself. I can't yet process not being able to dial his cell phone and hear "Well hello darlin', and how are you today?" He never shared his woes, he only wanted to make life better for everyone around him. He was a truly amazing friend to me, and I am a better person for having known and loved him. Farewell, my dear friend -- I will miss you terribly.

Dick is an amazing man that touched my heart and would make me laugh in a heartbeat. My heart goes out to Sue, his entire family & his friends in this time of sorrow. He will be deeply missed at Eagle as my days will never be the same without him. He told me last week he'd worry who would look over me, but I know he's with me :)

I love the pics of Dick & Tony...that made me smile!

I cannot begin to express my thanks to all the friends and family who have been so kind during the last weeks. It is incredible that it was only three weeks ago that we found out Dick had cancer and was terminally ill. We have had so many blessings with visits, calls, cards, gifts, etc. But the greatest blessing of all was the outpouring of love. Dick made me promise several times to tell everyone how much it meant to him and how deeply he was touched. He was absolutely overawed by all of the love. So, here is the thanks from Dick himself.

The majority of ones life is full of moments of nothing. Nothing moments watching television and without realizing it, you find yourself happy and content knowing someone else is there for you, sharing the air you breathe. Many, many nothing moments strung together. These moments we cherish without knowing it and certainly not acknowledging it. And that is what I will miss. That is what I will cherish. Nothing moments with you. I love you Dick.
