Richard A. McEachen, 76, of Marysville, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2017.
He was born February 11, 1941 in Port Huron, to Wilfred L. and Elizabeth McEachen. He married Mary Jo Bowersox on August 16, 1974, in St. Christopher Catholic Church, Marysville.
Mr. McEachen retired from the Grand Trunk Western Railroad after 32 years of service as a machinist. He later worked for Modern Motors driving shuttle for over 11 years.
He was a devoted Catholic and longtime member of St. Christopher Catholic Church in Marysville. He was an avid bowler for 40 years. In later years, he enjoyed the game of golf, playing cards, chess, gardening and traveling in Northern Michigan and Canada. He also liked to watch the birds and freighters from his house near the St. Clair River.
He is survived by his wife or 42 years, Mary Jo; son, James; mother, Elizabeth; brother, Wilfred P.; sister, Patricia Riebrandt and several nieces and nephews. He was also dearly loved by special cousins, William A. McEachen, Jr., Patricia Crozier, Debra Langell and Sandra Gramer. He also enjoyed many years of friendship with Linda and Danny Sawdon. He will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wilfred McEachen; sister-in-law, Ann McEachen; brother-in-law, William "Bill" Riebandt; and mother-in-law, Margaret Bowersox.
A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 9, 2017 at St. Christopher Catholic Church, with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service. The Reverend James Arwady will officiate.
Inurnment will be at Riverlawn Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Christopher Catholic Church or charity of the donor's choice.
