Richard A. Medice, born May 23, 1937, in Baltimore, Maryland, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2025, surrounded by the love and warmth of his family. He was the son of the late Mark and Edith Medice and an inspiration to his family and friends. A man of exceptional creativity and intelligence, Richard sought beauty in every aspect of life. His education at the Maryland Institute of Art was not just a chapter in his life but a lifelong journey that shaped his appreciation for the finer things. Richard's gardens were a testament to his love for nature, brimming with vibrant mums, lilies, roses, and hearty vegetables. Richard's love for music spanned many genres, from operas to modern melodies. He appreciated and created poetry and drawings.
Beloved father to Karen Tracy and husband Mark, Kathleen Cain and husband Jim, Donna Mishoe and husband Kevin, Richard Medice and wife Christie, Renay Tyler and husband John, and Robert Largent and wife Tammy, he instilled in his children the value of love and the pursuit of knowledge. His guiding hand will be dearly missed by his grandchildren Christina, Rachel, Katy, James, Ryan, Alexander, Jenna, Carrie, Greg, and Stefanie, as well as his great-grandchildren Cory, Tessa, Amelia, Ben, Alice, and Evelyn. Predeceased by Evelyn Medice, his loving wife of 27 years. Richard, also a brother to Cindy and Terry.
In the later chapters of his journey, Richard found companionship with Wendy Lynham. Known affectionately as "Gumpy," Richard's legacy of love, creativity, and intellect will continue to inspire and live on in the hearts of his family and friends. His was a life well-lived and well-loved.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Richard's life at the family owned Evans Life Celebration Home -8800 Harford Road, Parkville MD, 21234, for a visitation on Friday, January 17th 2025, from 2-4 and 6-8pm. A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 18th 2025, 11am at Evans. Interment at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.
