I frequently talked with Richard at the Glenview Park Center. We both enjoyed talking about NAS Glenview and his time as a Corpsman. He was incredibly proud to have been in the Navy and have been a Corpsman. I regret never having coffee with him or visiting graduation ceremonies at NAVSTA Great Lakes -- which he apparently enjoyed attending into his 80s -- but I will treasure his willingness to talk with me about Building 48 and the good ol' days of life at NAS Glenview. Fair winds, Richard.

Met Richard in 1983 at Saslow Dental and maintained friendship through the years.
He was a great help to us over the years and was a selfless man. Strong wind and
following seas.

I met Rich in the mid 70's when I started working at Saslow Dental. He was just the sweetest person and always offering a helping hand. We had many great conversations and he will always be remembered by me. Rest in peace.

One of the nicest, most friendly person I had the privilege to know early in my own career who helped craft my own future with his wit and humor. He was a friend to many and someone I knew I could rely upon. His absence is felt by so many others as well.

Rich and I went to many White Sox and Bulls games together. We also played 16" softball at company outings. We first met in 1970 when I was working at Saslow Dental and became friends because of our allegiance to the Chicago White Sox. I will have Masses said for you, my friend. May God bless you, and may you rest in peace. Chuck Traxler

I am a nurse at the VA. Rich became a dear friend over time, and my family would visit him at the care facility in Grayslake. My boys called him "Mr. Richard." His Catholic faith meant so much to him, as did all things Navy and Italian. Rest easy, sailor. (Barbara, thank you for all you did.)
