Richard R. Morin Jr.

Morin, Richard R. Jr TAMPA, FL – It is with great sadness we announce that Richard Morin, 53, of Tampa, passed away on November 17, 2023 after a brief illness. Rich was born on March 11, 1970, in Albany, NY, the son of Richard R Morin, Sr. and Donna Kenney Soave. He graduated from Colonie Central High School, Class of '88.
Currently, Rich was the Owner and CEO of Ultra Flooring with over 30 years of commercial flooring installation nationwide. He started his career with the Local Union 370, United Brotherhood of Carpenters & Joiners of America in Albany, NY. Rich was extremely skilled and known as a hard worker and mentor to many installers in his field. In his youth, he enjoyed fast cars, rebuilding engines, hunting, and bowling. He loved the water and spent many years boating and fishing on Sacandaga Lake. But his greatest love in life were his three beautiful daughters. Rich cherished the years coaching their Classie Lassie and Brunswick softball teams where they made many lasting friendships.
In 2021, He moved to Florida to enjoy the Sunshine State and all that it offered. He especially loved taking trips with his girls to the theme parks and the sandy beaches. His "Big Kid" personality will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
Rich is predeceased by his mother, Donna Kenney Soave who passed away on October 6, 2023 and step-father Louis Soave. He is survived by his father Richard (Luba)Morin Sr; his loving daughters, Samantha O'Dell, Amanda Morin and Alyssa Morin; granddaughters Luna Rivera and Giavanna Morone; brothers James (Dawn) Morin; and Michael (Naomi) Morin; nieces Cameron and Tatum Morin. Rich is also survived by several loving aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends. The family would also like to thank Caroline Machado of Alamo Flooring, Sophia Gato of Gato Flooring and Cary Callahan for their care and compassion.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Rich's family to celebrate his life on Saturday, December 9 from 9-11 am at the Rockefeller Funeral Home, 165 Columbia Tpk, Rensselaer with a Reception immediately following at American Legion Melvin Roads Post.
