Richard Muhr Obituary

Richard J. Muhr

Richard J. Muhr passed away peacefully in the arms of his wife, 6/17/2025. Born in Chicago, 2/1/1940, to Joseph S. Muhr and Gabrielle M. Scharf. Older brother to Grace and Roberta, brother-in-law to Russell and Cynthia. A proud Army veteran and devoted husband to Karen M. Muhr, nee Osuch for 50+ years. Loving father to Lee, Jeff, Greg, Pat, Brian, and Krista. Caring father-in-law to Laura Druhe, Dawn Carson, and Leilani Frank. Loving Opa to Ryan, Ellie, Alec, Colin, Lauren, Maddie, Mariya, Hailey, Andy, Katie, Conlon, Samantha, Kylie, and Gunner. Great-Opa to little Cleo. He showed us a deep love of nature and exploration, the determination to make it through whatever life gave him, and the importance of a little chuckle along the way. He welcomed challenges and people as they were, and he could, and would, talk to anyone and leave them smiling. He will not be forgotten.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 9 AM until the Funeral Mass at 10 AM at Holy Archangels Parish at St. Hubert Church, 729 Grand Canyon Street, Hoffman Estates, IL, 847-885-7700
