Richard J. Ostrander Jr.

Richard John Ostrander Jr., of Port Huron, Michigan, passed away on February 22, 2026, at the age of 37. He was born on August 23, 1988, in Port Huron.

Known to his family as Ricky and to many friends as Rich, he was the beloved son of Richard (Sis) Ostrander and the late Stephanie Ostrander.

Ricky is survived by his parents Rick and Sis Ostrander, and by his three children, Anthony Mrwik, Richard "RJ" Ostrander III, and Rebecca Ostrander. He is also lovingly remembered by his grandparents, Guy and Betty Seago.

Surviving Ricky are also his siblings Ryan Ostrander, John (Cassie) Spencer, Sarah Thomas, Pamela (Tom) Shafran, and Riley (Dusty) Griffin whom he shared many memories, laughs, and life moments with and will be deeply missed by them all. He was an uncle to many nieces and nephews and is also remembered by many aunts, uncles, extended family members, and friends who cared deeply for him. Special friend and mother of his children Michelle Gray as well.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Stephanie Ostrander, his grandparents Jim and Jenny Ostrander, Madeline Werner, Alvina "Jean" Kelch and brother-in-law Arnold Hinojosa Jr.

Ricky was a gypsy soul who planted roots in many states, always searching for new places, new experiences, and new connections. No matter where life took him, he carried pieces of his family and the people he loved with him. Along the way, he left behind friendships, memories, and stories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Though his time here was far too short, Ricky will always be remembered for the love he had for his children, his family, and the people who were part of his life.

Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be held at a later time.
