Captain Phillips, you will be greatly missed by me and everyone at Gracie Decatur. Thank you so much for your wisdom, strength and kindness.

Your Gracie Jiu-jitsu Decatur family will miss you. For seven years you have been a vital part of our Graice family and amazing ambassador for Police officers to train.

I met Richard through Leadership DeKalb and he was an integral part of making our class the best class ever. He was a guy who showed up and did his part. He was a resource that could be counted on. And he was a genuinely kind, thoughtful and compassionate man. His passing is a loss to our class and to the community that he served with dedication. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew him and his family be kept and held during this difficult time.
