Obituary of Richard Michael Policastro
Richard Policastro, on July 11, 2023 of Philadelphia, PA. age 77 years. Beloved husband of Carmel (nee Hudson). Devoted father of Robert (Margo) and Brittany (Nick). Proud grandfather of Robert, Ivy, and Hudson. Richard had three brothers, Charles (Carol), the late Walter, and Jack. Loving son of the late the Charles and Pauline (nee Zetusky). Also survived by his four nieces Cheryl, Debbie, Karen and Cindy. Rich grew up in Mayfair and went to school at Saint Timothy's, graduating from Father Judge High School. A true patriot, Rich was proud to have served in the US army during the Vietnam era. Rich loved music and listening to the oldies was his favorite pastime. Never a day that he wasn't listening to them. He also loved old movies. Especially "Doctor Who". A devoted father and husband, Rich would move mountains to help his family; always with a smile on his face! Rich was a diehard Eagles fan; he loved spending time with his family, and treasured his grandchildren they affectionately called him D dad. He loved playing Uno, watching movies, reading, and coloring, all the fun things that grandparents love to do! Rich was deeply affected by the tragic events of 911. He would travel to New York on the anniversary each year and visit with the Firemen buying T shirts and other memorabilia ensuring that day would never be forgotten or go unobserved. A true pleasure of his was going to Ocean City. It was his happy place! Cremation was held privately. A memorial service and Military Honors will be announced at a later date. Arrangements under the direction of the COSTANTINO-PRIMO FUNERAL HOME, BERLIN NJ. To leave lasting condolences or photos, please use the links on this page.
