Richard “Dick” Pontzloff, age 78 of Appleton, WI passed away on January 10, 2026. He was born to Ernest and Marjorie (Kappell) Pontzloff on October 1, 1947. After finishing primary school, he went on to work as an electrician for Miller Electric for most of his life. Dick met Suzanne Raymer in 1996 and they were married in 1997, joining their families together.
Dick always stayed busy with something, whether it was active work, tinkering in the garage, or taking in the neighbors’ trash and recycling bins for them. He always had a project he was working on – often times taking apart and refurnishing trailers to sell. On a nice day, you could often find Dick out on a golf course, practicing his drives and putts.
Dick is survived by his wife; 2 children and 3 step-children; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; a sister; along with many nieces, nephews, other extended relatives, and dear friends and neighbors.
Dick is preceded in death by his parents and several siblings.
A memorial visitation will be held for Dick from 9:30 – 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 1617 W. Pine St, Appleton, WI 54914 with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 AM. Dick will be laid to rest at St. Mary Cemetery in Appleton, WI.
