Richard Potts Obituary
Richard was born March 17, 1945 in Washington, Indiana, the son of Freidman and Leona Eck Potts. He married Carole Ferguson November 25, 1972. Richard was the most loving husband, father, and brother and proud Poppy to his grandsons.
Richard is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carole; daughter, Andrea (Mike) Carpenter; son, Justin (Jennifer) Potts; grandsons, Tyler and Cole Stevens all of Columbus; sisters, Sharon Green of Odon, Indiana, Margaret Waggoner of Shoals, Indiana and Mary Riggins of Scotland, Indiana; and a brother, Gary Potts of Washington, Indiana.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Fred and Lonnie Potts and a sister, Helen Smith.
Richard was a 44-year employee of Cummins Engine Company and a lifetime member of the Corvette Club of Columbus. Richard enjoyed traveling and his retirement winters in Florida. He also enjoyed 50 years of playing euchre with a very special group of friends and attending his grandsons' sporting events.
A celebration of life will held in the spring of 2026 in Columbus. In memory of Richard, memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or the donor's choice of charities. Arrangements were entrusted to Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home and Crematory.
