Richard Ray Putman was a loving father, grandfather, and a lifelong car enthusiast who passed away peacefully at Samaritan Evergreen Hospice in Albany on October 24, 2025, at the age of 82.

Before retirement, Richard worked as a machinist at ATI Wah Chang. Outside of work, his true passion was anything with an engine. He loved classic cars, fast cars, and loud cars- there wasn't an engine he couldn't rebuild. Richard loved retelling stories of his younger self and making people laugh. He enjoyed his TV and talking into his remote to get his favorite western movies, or game shows and watch them repeatedly. Mostly he loved his family and and friends and just sitting around visiting- That is what made him the happiest.

His great big heart, and witty sense of humor drew everyone who knew him even closer. For those lucky enough to have known him, his huge smile, firm handshake, compassion, and laughter will never be forgotten. His mark he left in this world was great- He will forever be within our hearts and we will miss him every day until we reunite with him in Heaven.

Richard is survived by his stepmom, Jean, his children, Lisa, Ricky, and Shannon. His grandchildren, Heather, Hailee, Dakota, Aaron, Jason, Jaden, and Aislyn, and a great grandson, Cannon. He is also survived by his siblings, Brenda, Linda, Gary, and Pam, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his biological mother Norma, and his father Ed Putman, and brother Russ Putman.

Richards legacy lives on in the cars he loved, the stories he told, and the family who loves him immensely.

A graveside celebration of his life will be held at Twin Oaks Cemetary where we will lay him to rest at a later date
