Richard Quiroga Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by A Natural State Funeral Service & Crematory on Dec. 8, 2025.
Richard Michael Quiroga, lovingly known as Richie, and fondly referred to by family as "the Bird" and "Tex", passed away suddenly on November 22, 2025, at the age of 61. His departure leaves a profound void, but his legacy of love, laughter, and devotion will continue to shine through the lives he touched.

Richie was a man of deep character and warmth. He was the kind of person who could light up a room with his humor, offer strength in times of need, and remind those around him of the importance of family. His values-kindness, resilience, and generosity-were evident in every aspect of his life.

Throughout his lifetime, Richie held many positions that reflected his strong work ethic and commitment to others. He worked at Kelly Air Force Base that contributed to engineering projects on international bridges in Laredo and Del Rio, Texas, and he worked on a project that would become the 2002 Winter Olympics Village in Park City, Utah. He also worked for Texas Welding & Fence, bringing skill and dedication to every role he undertook. For the past 18 years, Richie resided in Jacksonville, Arkansas, where he built lasting friendships and continued to share his warmth and disposition with those around him.

He joins in eternal rest by his parents Beatrice F. Flores and Adrian C. Flores; his brother, Arthur C. Flores; his grandmother, Hortence Solis Ray and grandfather Joe Taylor Flores. Their memory, together with Richie's, forms a lasting family fortune of love and strength.

Richie is survived by his siblings Andrew Joseph Ortiz; Jacqueline Ortiz Estrada (Rogelio); Anthony Lewis Ortiz (Rosalinda); and Graciela Flores (Joe Anthony Martinez). He is also survived by many step-siblings, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and extended family, and countless friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Richie's life will be celebrated by all who knew him, and his spirit will continue to live on in the traditions, stories, and bonds he helped create. Though his time was cut short, his impact will endure for generations.

A funeral mass service will be held in San Antonio, Texas at a later date/time to honor Richie's life, with details to be shared by the family. The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered prayers, support, and kindness during this difficult time.
