Richard Crumbaugh Obituary

Richard "Rick" Arlen Crumbaugh, 72, of Cambridge City, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Rick was born on October 19, 1953, in Richmond, Indiana, the son of the late Richard Shaw and Edith (Pue) Moore.

On June 18, 1994, Rick married the love of his life, Becky (Carson) Crumbaugh. For the past 31 years, Rick and Becky were inseparable, if you saw Becky, Rick was never far behind. He lived life to the fullest and cherished each day. Rick loved riding his Harley-Davidson, serving as a pastor, and singing, especially karaoke. He has led a praise and worship team and found joy in lifting others through music. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, teasing and joking with friends, and sharing his big heart with everyone he met. Above all, he adored his loyal canine companion, Tessa.

Rick retired from Vectren Gas Company on his birthday in 2018 after 41 years of dedicated service, where he worked as a service specialist. He was a proud member of the IBEW Local 1393 and served as a union steward.

Rick is survived by his wife of 31 years, Becky Crumbaugh of Cambridge City; children, Brad (Claudia) Crumbaugh of Riverside, Ohio, and Angie (Raul) Desena of Centerville; grandchildren, Chelsea, Casey (Sara), Aaron (Taylor), Nicholas, Skyler, Gavin, Liam, Isaac, and Stori; great-grandson, Oliver; brother, David (Samantha) Crumbaugh of Texas; sister, Tina Berry of Tennessee; sisters-in-law, Denise Crumbaugh of North Carolina and Debra Crumbaugh of Tennessee; brother-in-law, John (Tye) Carson; mother-in-law, Janie Carson and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by his daughter, Shannon Thomas; brothers, Donny and Marty; father-in-law, Charles Carson and several aunts and uncles.

Following cremation, a celebration of life will be held at 5:00pm Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. The family will be available for visitation from 3:00pm until the time of service on Saturday. You may express condolences or share memories of Rick at www.hinsey-brown.com.

I use to date David across driveway. Now when I see my son I stop and see Rick and Becky and sometimes it's at campsite. It's been wild. I love them both so much. Rick had so life and love for Becky he was God's best tool of life!!!
