Richard (Rick) Ross Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 5, 2025.
Richard "Rick" William Ross, age 61, passed away unexpectedly on November 1, 2025, in Bacolod City, Philippines. born and raised in Madison, WI, Rick spent much of his life in his hometown, where he built a legacy of resilience, kindness, and unwavering loyalty.

Rick is survived by his children, Patricia Barnes and Richard W. Ross, Jr., his beloved grandchildren, Andrea and Amberly Barnes; his parents, Richard W. Ross (Kathy) and Mary Kniaz; his brother and lifelong confidant, Steve Ross (Janice); and his nephews, Will, Cole and Luke Ross. Rick and Steve shared a bond that endured through every chapter of life-steadfast companions in both celebration and challenge.

To his son Ricky, Rick was more than a father-he was a guide and a friend. their motorcycle rides and camping trips through Florida were transformative moments of connection and understanding, memories Ricky will carry forever.

Rick graduated from James Madison Memorial HS and proudly served in the U.S. Army. After his honorable discharge, he embraced a life of adventure and hard work, thriving in roles across HVAC, controls, and commercial trucking. As an owner-operator, he tackled every challenge with ingenuity and grit, earning a reputation as someone who could fix just about anything.

Rick was a man of quiet generosity and deep loyalty. He loved dogs, the Green Bay Packers, and tinkering with cars. He was always ready to lend a hand, offering his time, tools, and a heart to anyone in need. His presence was a source of comfort and strength to family and friends alike.

Rick will be remembered for his warmth, his work ethic, and the way he showed up-fully and faithfully-for the people he loved. His absence leaves a profound void, but his spirit lives on in the lives he touched.

He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
