RICHARD ROMIG Richard Earl Romig, lovingly known as Rich, was born on August 21, 1948, in Anderson, Indiana, and passed on November 9, 2025. A resilient and dedicated man, Richard was a pillar of strength and a beacon of unwavering loyalty for his family and friends. His love for life and joyous spirit left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Richard was a dedicated butcher in the food industry before retiring. His work ethic was unmatched, much like his love for muscle cars, especially his '66 Black Goat "GTO". An avid sportsman and outdoor enthusiast, Richard had a passion for riding his Harley-Davidson and flying RC airplanes. He enjoyed teaching his children and grandchildren to ride on the various ATVs he had over the years. Richard found immense joy in travelling to Florida with his family, particularly to Daytona. His love for outdoor recreation was only surpassed by his love for his family, which was always at the heart of everything he did. Richard is survived by his loving wife of over five decades, Judy Romig, his children, Richard "Joe" Romig and Julie (Kurt) Slayton, his grandchildren, Lacy and Ty Slayton, Shelby, Waylon and Willie Romig, and his great-grandson, Callen Romig. He also leaves behind his brother-in-law, Rick French, sisters-in-law Tamara (Becky) French, LeaAnn (Joe) Clouser, several nephews and nieces and close family friends Laurie Schaefer, Bridgette and Nick Clark. He is preceded in death by his parents, Byron and Dorothy Romig, and his brothers, Byron Jr. and Ronald Romig. The visitation will be held at Dunnichay Funeral Home, 1113 South Anderson Street, Elwood, Indiana, 46036, on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at 2:00 pm EST, followed by the memorial service at 4:00 pm EST.
