Rick “Pappy” Roop, 70, of Columbus, GA passed away Monday, December 01, 2025 at St. Francis Hospital. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Rick was born September 13, 1955 in West Point, GA son of the late Edward Douglas Roop and Georgia Lee Cook Roop.
Other than his parents, Rick was preceded in death by his infant brother.
Survivors include his wife, Patty Roop of Midland, GA; children, Gabriel Roop (Julie) of Smiths Station, AL, Rachel Roop of Columbus, GA, Blake Wells (Andrea Certain) of Phenix City, AL, Bradley Wells (Crystal) of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Leighton Ingram (Samantha) of Smiths Station, AL, Hunter Roop (Kaitlyn) of Opelika, AL, Sara-Blake Wells of Columbus, GA, Hailey Martel of Columbus, GA; brothers, Alan Edward Roop (Gail) of Columbus, GA, Christopher Kevin Roop of Florida; numerous nieces, nephews and other family.
