Richard Ross, a beloved husband, father, and master mechanic, passed away on June 20, 2023, at the age of 66. He was born on September 23, 1956, in
Ottumwa, Iowa, to Glenn Ross and Nadine Vanblaricum. Richard peacefully joined his Heavenly Father from his cherished family home on the farm, where he found solace surrounded by his loved ones.
Richard's passion for mechanics ignited at a young age, and he honed his skills to become a Master Mechanic by the age of 17. Throughout his life, he found fulfillment and joy in working with his hands and fixing things. His dedication to his craft was unwavering, and he took great pride in his profession. Richard's talent and expertise in mechanics brought him countless opportunities to help others and solve intricate problems.
Beyond his professional life, Richard found his greatest happiness in the company of his family. For 27 years, he was lovingly married to his devoted wife, Adela Ross. Their bond was strong, built on shared values and mutual support. Together, they created a nurturing and loving environment and shared love of country living. Rick's wife lovingly treasures the profound wisdom he imparted upon her, guiding her in the art of mechanical repairs and embracing the beauty of unique challenges.
Richard's nurturing nature extended to his family near and afar in Iowa. He is survived by his daughters: Misty Reece (Chad) of Iowa, Abby Ross of Iowa, Lisa Munoz (Al) of Wyoming, and Naomi Young (Jason) of Colorado. Richard's memory will forever be cherished by his surviving siblings: Pat Ross (Maryann), Mike Ross, Margie (Terry), and Barb. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Nadine Ross, his brother Bud Ross, and his son Johnnie Baca Jr. Richard's absence will be deeply felt by his family, but they will forever carry his spirit and the values he instilled in them and his unwavering support.
Richard will be remembered as a man who embraced the simplicity and beauty of country living. His green thumb was evident in his passion for gardening, particularly his ability to grow gigantic pumpkins that brought smiles to the faces of his grandchildren. Additionally, he held dear the cherished memories of embarking on vacation journeys with his beloved daughters, Misty and Abby, during their tender years. He found solace and contentment in the tranquility of rural life and cherished the sights and sounds of nature that surrounded him.
An animal lover at heart, Richard held a special place in his heart for the furry companions who shared his home. His compassion and care extended to all creatures, and he took pride in providing a loving home for his four-legged friends.
As we bid farewell to Richard, we recognize that his impact far surpasses his notable achievements and affinity for rural living. He embodied the role of a lifelong mentor, generously sharing his wisdom with his younger brother, cherished wife, and extended family and friends. Ever ready to extend a helping hand to those in need, Richard's selflessness was unmatched. In his final days, he expressed a heartfelt desire to be surrounded by those he held dear, and we are grateful to all who made that wish a reality. Richard's gratitude resonates as he leaves us, forever cherished in our hearts.
