Deacon Richard Ryan, 92, of Manheim, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 4, 2025 at the Masonic Village, Elizabethtown. He was born in Philadelphia, March 27, 1933 to the late Richard A. Ryan, Sr. and Margaret (Whyte) Ryan. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 63 years, Dolores M. (Devlin) Ryan, since September of 2019.
He graduated from Drexel University with a degree in Engineering and retired from Armstrong World Industries in Lancaster PA.
Ordained as a Deacon in the Catholic Church in 1981, he served at both Holy Spirit Parish in Palmyra and at St Peter Catholic Church in Elizabethtown until his retirement.
Richard is survived by his six children, Richard and wife Celia, Terry and wife Pam, Dolores Reidenbach and husband Randy, Sharon Ryan, Timothy and wife Becky, and Sean and wife Susan; the family vine continues to include 24 grandchildren; a growing number of great grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 14, 2025 at 11:30 AM at St. Peter Catholic Church 904 Mill Rd., Elizabethtown, PA 17022. A time of visitation will be held from 10:30 AM until the start of Mass. Burial will follow with full military honors at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the St Vincent de Paul Society at St. Peter Catholic Church.
