Richard M. Saullo, 39, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend passed away unexpectedly Monday (April 28, 2025) at his home in Brooklyn, NY. Rich was known for his kind soul and patience. He relished the world of movies and timeless music. In addition to being a cookie expert, sushi and pasta al sugo were some of his favorite things to eat. His love for New York City was unparalleled and he felt a deep sense of belonging in the great borough of Brooklyn. A devoted sports fan, cherishing the New York Yankees, he loved nothing more than spending the day watching soccer, baseball, or golf. He was a proud Italian American and sought out his family roots – characterizing endless love for family. He was a graduate of Jamestown High School (Class of 2004) and the University at Buffalo. As a savvy tech aficionado, he spent his career in the digital advertising and marketing industry with his work taking him around the globe. Though his time with us was far too brief, Rich leaves behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and unwavering love. His laugh was infectious. You could easily get him to "cry laugh." He will be deeply missed by all who have had the opportunity to know him. Rich faced a long and unfortunate struggle with alcohol use disorder. Despite several lows, he maintained hope, compassion, and his sense of humor. By sharing this part of his story, we hope to help reduce the stigma surrounding addiction and encourage others who may be struggling, or have a member of their family battling, to seek help and know they are not alone. In his memory, the family encourages support for organizations dedicated to addiction recovery and mental health awareness. Surviving are his parents Richard A. and Kathleen A. (Raeon) Saullo of Jamestown; a brother Cory (Jillian) Saullo of Durham, NC; a sister Stephanie (Jeff) Feliciano of Malaysia; a half-sister Lori Brandes (Ray Barnett) of Shreveport, LA; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his half-sister, Lisa Hallberg. A brief memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, May 9 at Falconer Funeral Home. Rev. Timothy J. Hoyer pastor of Bethlehem Lutheran Church will officiate. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm in the funeral home. Let us remember Rich for his enormous heart and the joy he constantly exhibited.
