Richard Sertik Obituary
Richard was born Dec. 19, 1943, in Pittsburgh. He was the son of the late Walter and Mary "Gumelda" Rider Sertik.
Dick was a graduate of Allegheny-Clarion Valley High School in Foxburg.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was a member of the VFW, and enjoyed taking trips to casinos. He retired as a machinist from Indspec in Petrolia.
Dick attended St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Kathleen Metro Sertik, who passed away on Feb. 6, 2005. They were married at St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church in Sagamore on Jan. 31, 1970.
Dick is survived by his daughter, Monica Sertik, and a granddaughter, Alexandria Sertik, both of Chicora.
Also surviving are his sister, Linda Baer and her husband, Robin, of Emlenton; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Dick was preceded in death by a sister, Edith Davis; and a brother, Dennis Sertik.
SERTIK - A funeral service for Richard W. "Dick" Sertik, who died Thursday, July 1, 2021, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 3, 2021, at Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora-Fenelton Road, Chicora, with the Rev. Radko Blichar, pastor of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, officiating.
Interment will be in St. Mary Greek Catholic Cemetery in Sagamore.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, 105 Kohler Ave., Lyndora, PA 16045.
