Boardman – Richard Wayne Shubert, 79, left this earthly life and entered eternal rest on Monday, October 13, 2025. He was born April 22, 1946 to Samuel Link and Dorothy Lee (Bridges) Shubert.
Richard graduated from Hubbard High School in 1964 and worked at General Motors for 50 years – starting in production and ending as a carpenter in the skilled trades. He also owned his own business in roofing, siding, seal coating, and snow plowing.
He leaves his wife, Antoinette M. (Toni) DeChellis whom he married on August 20, 1966; 2 daughters, JoLynn (Doug) Franz of Heath; Leslie (Ken) Fredrick of Kentucky; 2 brothers, Jim (Carolyn) Shubert of Brunswick; Larry Shubert of Michigan; 1 sister Nancy Shubert of Youngstown; brother-in-laws James (Patty) DeChellis of Struthers, Carl (Kathy) DeChellis of Cincinnati. Blessings were added by 6 grandchildren, Caleb Franz (Megan Kirlin), Blake Franz, Elijah Franz, Joseph Franz, Isabella Franz, Nicolina Fredrick.
He was proceeded in death by his parents; in-laws James and Josephine DeChellis; brother Bradley Shubert.
A special thank you to all the doctors, nurses, and staff of Hospice House of the Valley for caring and treating Rich with respect and love. They were truly angels sent to care for our beloved Richard.
Richard was a "lifelong" Corvette guy. His first Corvette was a cherry red 1977 with T-Tops.
Friends and family may call on Sunday, October 19, 2025, from 2:00 to 6:00 pm at the Clemente Funeral Home in Struthers. A prayer service will be held on Monday, October 20, at 10:30 am at the funeral home and a Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:00 am at the Christ Our Savior/ St. Nicholas Church in Struthers.
